Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Sales & Marketing
Position Overview
Goodrich Gaskets is seeking dynamic and ambitious Graduate Engineer Trainees to join our Sales & Marketing division. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates to launch their careers in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced sales and marketing professionals to develop business relationships, understand customer needs, and support revenue growth initiatives across our gasket manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Customer Engagement
Identify, initiate, and build successful supplier relationships with assigned target customer groups
Maintain consistent contact with existing and potential customers to ensure high customer satisfaction
Develop and execute daily customer visit agendas to demonstrate current and speculative gasket products
Assist customers in product selection and help inform hardware decisions, including new product development opportunities
Travel within assigned territory to visit existing customers, potential customers, and key specifiers
Build strong personal relationships with customers and key decision-makers
Sales Operations & Order Management
Track and process new customer enquiries and RFQ (Request for Quotation) submissions
Collaborate with technical and sales teams to analyze customer requirements and determine feasibility of enquiries
Review technical specifications and engineering drawings for gasket customization
Support the preparation of competitive quotes and proposals working with Sales Engineers
Coordinate with Operations and Production teams to secure new Purchase Orders and manage ongoing projects
Handle order processing, order acknowledgement, and delivery coordination
Manage customer complaints register and maintain proper documentation
Follow up on collection activities as per company credit policy
Technical Support & Product Knowledge
Develop comprehensive product knowledge of Goodrich Gaskets full range of gasket solutions (metallic, non-metallic, composite materials, etc.)
Conduct technical presentations explaining product specifications, applications, and performance characteristics
Assist in addressing technical objections and customer concerns
Provide technical documentation and material specifications to customers
Liaise with internal Engineering and R&D teams for technical clarifications
Submit Engineering Change Notices (ECN) to R&D based on customer feedback
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
Continuously monitor competitive products, pricing strategies, and promotional activities in the market
Keep management informed about competitive offerings and market developments
Identify areas for product improvement and communicate recommendations to Senior Management
Participate in market research initiatives and industry benchmarking activities
Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory requirements in gasket manufacturing
Marketing & Communications Support
Assist in creating marketing content and technical documentation for products
Support the organization of industry exhibitions, trade shows, and business development events
Participate in lead generation activities and sales pipeline development
Communicate relevant information to customer service and marketing teams regarding customer activities
Generate reports on customer interactions and market feedback
Sales Reporting & Documentation
Provide accurate and timely reports on daily activities to Sales Management at regular intervals
Maintain CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system data and sales activity logs
Prepare sales forecasts and activity reports as required
Document customer interactions, preferences, and technical requirements
Generate performance metrics and achievement reports against assigned targets
Other Responsibilities
Participate in technical training programs to deepen knowledge of gasket manufacturing processes and materials
Support cross-functional projects involving Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams
Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvement
Represent Goodrich Gaskets professionally at all customer interactions and industry events
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) from a recognized university
Specialization preferred: Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
Alternative: MBA/B.Com with strong technical aptitude (subject to experience)
Candidates with recent graduation (06 months) preferred; candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience are also welcome
Technical Competencies
Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings (2D/3D CAD basics beneficial)
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical specifications and engineering drawings
Knowledge of gasket materials, manufacturing processes, and applications (training will be provided)
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Excel proficiency is essential
Basic familiarity with CRM or ERP systems is a plus
Understanding of manufacturing quality standards and compliance requirements
Professional Skills
Communication: Fluent in English (both written and verbal); regional language proficiency is a plus
Presentation Skills: Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers
Sales & Negotiation: Understanding of basic sales principles; eagerness to develop sales acumen
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work with data and numbers
Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Digital Literacy: Comfortable working with CRM systems, email platforms, and digital communication tools

Product knowledge assessment and training completion
Career Progression & Development
This is a structured trainee program with clear progression pathways:
Month 13: Product knowledge training, customer interaction shadowing, market familiarization
Month 412: Independent customer engagement, supervised RFQ handling, sales target achievement
Year 2: Potential progression to Sales Executive or Senior Sales Engineer role based on performance
