Graduate Engineer Trainee (Mechanical) will undergo structured training to gain handson experience in mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, production operations, maintenance procedures, quality systems, and safety protocols. The role aims to develop the trainee into a fully competent Mechanical Engineer capable of handling independent responsibilities in engineering or operations.
Safety & EHS
- Follow all safety rules, LOTO procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety training, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
- Promote a culture of zero harm and safe work practices.
Technical & Engineering
- Learn and support fabrication, assembly, and testing activities.
- Assist in preparing BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Work with senior engineers on fabrication & welding, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode analysis (FMEA).
Production / Manufacturing Support
- Observe and support daily production operations on the shop floor.
- Understand machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and material flow processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction (Lean, Kaizen).
- Assist in implementing work instructions, SOPs, and standard process guidelines.
- Assist in breakdown analysis and corrective action implementation.
Quality & Compliance
- Assist quality engineers with inspections, checks, and audits.
- Learn about ISO standards, quality procedures, and document control.
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, machines, and materials.
- Analytical and problemsolving skills.
Soft Skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and discipline.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Education & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (01 year experience).
- Internship or project experience in manufacturing/engineering is a plus.
