Position : Government Sales Manager (Systems Integrator – Networking & Cybersecurity)

Role Summary
Drive government segment business for the region – Central Government ministries, State Government departments, PSUs, Smart Cities, Defence/Paramilitary, Education & E-Gov agencies. Responsible for revenue, tendering strategy, account penetration, and deal closure for the company's Networking & Cybersecurity solutions – in partnership with OEM / Distribution vendors and internal pre-sales / delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Own regional government sales quota and achieve quarterly & annual booking/revenue targets.
· Build & grow relationships with senior bureaucrats, IT Secretaries, NIC, DEIT, DIOs, SPAs, Heads of IT at PSUs, Smart City CEOs, defence procurement units etc.
· Build a territory coverage plan and account strategy for strategic Govt accounts.
· Identify, influence and track upcoming government programs, DPRs, RFPs, tenders & empanelment.
· Drive solution positioning for:
o Networking (DC networks, campus/wireless LAN, SD-WAN, rugged networks, private networks/5G)
o Cybersecurity (NGFW, SSE/SASE, SOC/XDR, IAM/Zero Trust, Data Security, Critical Infra Security)
· Drive complex tender / bid process end-to-end: eligibility, BOQ, compliance matrices, technical writeups, price discovery, commercials, L1 positioning.
· Work with OEM vendor teams to co-create bill of materials, technical compliance & pricing.
· Ensure CRM hygiene, accurate forecast, and 3–4x pipeline cover at all times.
· Engage internal teams (pre-sales, solution architects, bid/PMO, delivery, legal, finance) for winning proposals.
· Monitor competition movement in major tenders, price trends, DGS&D/GeM changes and bring timely intel back to leadership.
· Ensure timely handover for delivery, invoicing and collections as per government norms.
Required Experience
· 10-20 years in government sales in enterprise IT domain.
· Mandatory experience selling to government (Central/State) or PSUs in India.
· Proven experience working in tender-led business with end-to-end bid cycle.
· Experience with systems integrator / OEM / VAR / MSSP in networking or cybersecurity.
· Understanding of GeM, rate contracts, empanelment, DGS&D/GTE, SBD templates, QCBS etc.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong government stakeholder management and policy/program understanding.
· Ability to drive technical & commercial alignment in large, multi-party bids.
· Strong influencing skills, negotiation, deal orchestration, and closing.
· High integrity, process-oriented, disciplined documentation mindset.
Education
· Bachelor's degree required (Engineering preferred)
· MBA is an advantage
