Your Job

As a Government Reporting COE Specialist – SME, you will play a key role in supporting Koch businesses with accurate and compliant IRS reporting activities, including Form 1099 and Form 1042 reporting. You will work across teams to validate vendor tax documentation, analyze transaction data, support withholding tax reporting, and ensure timely filing in line with IRS requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, Vendor Master teams, and tax reporting partners.

Our Team

The Government Reporting Center of Excellence (COE) team partners closely with finance, procurement, vendor management, and business teams to support compliant tax reporting processes across Koch businesses. The team is focused on driving operational excellence, improving reporting accuracy, and leveraging automation and AI-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and value creation.

What You Will Do

  • Support end-to-end IRS reporting activities related to Form 1099 and Form 1042 processes
  • Analyze payment transactions and vendor data to identify reportable items in compliance with IRS guidelines
  • Validate vendor tax documentation, including W-9 and W-8 forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with Vendor Master, procurement teams, and business stakeholders to resolve reporting and withholding tax queries
  • Prepare reporting templates and withholding tax reporting packages to support timely and accurate filings
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives using AI and technology solutions
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation, validation records, and secure tax form storage practices
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders to improve compliance awareness and reporting effectiveness

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, tax reporting, or related finance operations
  • Experience supporting 1099 and/or 1042 reporting processes
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP systems and large data sets
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in reconciliation and data analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage reporting deadlines
