Government Relations & Public Policy - Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Be a custodian of Paytms brand among key Government, academic and civil society

communities.

Building and maintaining good relationships wrt regulatory bodies (SEBI/RBI/IDRA)

Develop strong relationship at the central ministries and departments (including MoF, MEA, MoCA, MoCI, MEITY, MHA, DoT, Niti Ayog)

Develop and scale our relationship with the state governments, working closely with our regional business teams.

Deep expertise in Identifying, Analyzing, developing positions, and driving advocacy on political, policy and regulatory issues pertinent to Paytms business in India.

Strong understanding and willingness to build strategic relationships.

Technical understanding of the Fintech technology architecture

Experience for engaging with Industry associations and drive the policy matters.

Develop and manage trusted relationships with key influencers, Government officials, academia, industry peers and Trade associations.

Support business growth by strategically positioning Paytm and its assets with key decision makers in the government. Candidate must have strong connects in key Central Ministries.

Candidate should be able to drive various policy positions for Paytm, arrange meetings with key Govt. Stakeholders at short notice.

Work with cross functional teams (legal, sales, communications, marketing etc) to develop positions supporting technology policy, trade policy, workforce, and local government issues.

Draft advocacy materials, position papers, collaterals on policy and regulatory issues.

Work closely with teams engaged in CSR, Communications and Marketing to plan and support interactions and events that engage external government and industry leaders to build Paytms thought leadership.

Requirements:

Bachelor/ Post Graduate degree, or equivalent proven experience in public policy and/or law. Passionate about Tech Policy, ICT and Telecommunications Policy.

05-08 years experience in Public Policy and Government Relations.

Must have relevant experience working on corporate/government affairs

Deep knowledge of policy making process and anatomies at Centre, state governments.

A self-starter with an ability to work in a fast paced, multinational environment

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Proven Experience to develop/present public policy positions before government or other key stakeholders.

Values collaboration, with demonstrated abilities working cross functional teams.

Experience in a relevant business or non-governmental organization or think tank, or in a political, governmental or regulatory context

Ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues

Ability to work independently as well as a team player in a multi-task work environment.
