Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented
Government Sales Executive to manage sales activities in the government sector. The candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, handling government tenders, building relationships with government departments, and achieving sales targets through institutional and public sector channels.
Key Responsibilities
Government Business Development:
- Identify sales opportunities in government departments, PSUs, municipalities, defense, railways, schools, hospitals, and other public institutions.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase government sales revenue.
- Generate leads through GEM portal, e-procurement portals, and direct networking.
Tender Management
- Search and track government tenders relevant to company products/services.
- Prepare tender documents, quotations, compliance sheets, and bid submissions.
- Coordinate with internal departments for technical and commercial requirements.
- Ensure timely participation in tenders and reverse auctions.
Client Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with government officials, procurement officers, consultants, and decision-makers.
- Conduct product presentations and meetings with institutional clients.
- Follow up regularly for approvals, purchase orders, and payments.
Sales & Revenue
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual government sales targets.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply terms.
- Ensure smooth execution of orders and project completion.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with logistics, finance, service, and operations teams for order fulfillment.
- Prepare sales pipeline reports, tender status reports, and MIS updates.
- Maintain records of client interactions and opportunities.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and new government projects.
- Suggest new business opportunities and product improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline
Experience
- 0-2 years of experience in Government Sales / Institutional Sales / Tender Sales
- Experience in GEM portal and e-tendering process preferred
Skills Required
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of government procurement process
- Tender documentation expertise
- Relationship management skills
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, ERP, CRM
- Ability to travel as required
