Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, sales or consulting, within education technology, enterprise software, or hardware.
  • Experience in navigating and closing procurement projects with public sector clients, government ministries (e.g., KPM/MOHE equivalent), or institutional educational bodies.
  • Experience in leading and executing GTM strategies or cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate in Malay and English fluently to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in business development, sales or consulting, and driving cross-functional projects or strategic initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of the Malaysian education landscape and an active network of government, academic, and EdTech leaders.
  • Expertise in channel partner management, OEM collaboration, and driving large-scale change-management programs for educators.
  • Proven track record in public sector EdTech and SaaS, driving AI platform adoption across local governments and enterprise education.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing cross-functional teams toward ambitious business and social-impact goals.
  • Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills to lead Malaysia's digital education transformation.

As a Google for Education Lead in Malaysia, you will lead a cross-functional Go-to-Market (GTM) team to drive the commercial growth, strategic adoption, and ecosystem expansion of Google Workspace for Education, Gemini, and Chromebooks across K-12 (public and private) and higher education.

In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, visionary leader, and advocate, leveraging deep industry insight and a robust stakeholder network. You will understand that the true value of education technology lies in a comprehensive, end-to-end solution combining device deployment, cloud software, artificial intelligence, professional development, and change management to deliver meaningful learning and research outcomes for Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional GTM team to execute a country-level strategy, balancing long-term investments with daily sales. Collaborate across Google to drive an aligned approach that influences global product roadmaps.
  • Build executive-level partnerships with executive government officials, regulatory agencies, and policy making bodies to drive large-scale national education programs.
  • Engage global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and local partners to scale hardware and software distribution. Collaborate on business plan execution to achieve ecosystem sales goals.
  • Act as an AI advocate leading the Gemini GTM strategy. Help K12 and higher education institutions integrate AI into learning and research while establishing academic ecosystem partnerships.
  • Support national education adoption programs. Drive training and teacher upskilling to enhance teaching and learning at scale.
