Golang Developer

The Monitoring Engineering Team architects, deploys, and provides operational support for Acxiom's Monitoring and Log Management solutions. These solutions include both proprietary software and enterprise observability, visualization, and real-time log analytics tools. A Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, validating, deploying, and maintaining software tools which ensure Acxiom's infrastructure and applications are monitored to meet client service-level agreements (SLAs) as well as security compliance requirements. You will consult with Engineers, Developers, and Service Owners to understand their business needs.

As part of the Monitoring team, you'll create monitoring and event management solutions to validate the health of applications, servers, databases, and networking devices. You'll partner with the Command Center and other IT teams to ensure the tools meet their needs. Acxiom operates within a hybrid Cloud environment, and a functional understanding of Cloud technologies will be required.

What you will do:

• Envision, design, implement, deploy, and maintain existing and new solutions supporting Acxiom's monitoring initiatives.
• Research and evaluate new third-party tools that are used to support our software tools. (i.e., Databases, Containerization, Cloud tools)
• Support existing monitoring solutions, addressing defects, patching vulnerabilities, and assisting users with usage of the tools.
• Support existing monitoring solutions by participating in Incident meetings where monitoring thresholds or synthetic tests may need to be reviewed or validated.
• Build software scripts for specific needs such as software migration or integration with a new third-party software tool.
• Document processes and procedures, system configurations, revision and patch management for monitoring solutions.
• Analyze large data sets to detect patterns.
• Utilize troubleshooting skills to identity and isolate incidents, such as networking skills to trace network traffic based on source and destination IP address

What you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science and 6+ years of related work experience / IT certifications
• Proficiency with modern object-oriented languages (i.e., Go, NodeJS)
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and evolving technologies
• Capability to learn and follow process procedures and policies
• Strong time management and organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks with minimal supervision
• Demonstrable ability to work well in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Communicate effectively and timely through Teams and Outlook, as well as in person.
• Ability to work outside of typical work hours when required

What will set you apart:

• Experience coding in Go and NodeJS
• Experience with Python and Bash scripting
• Competence with Git Source Code Management workflows
• Experience with Kubernetes / Containerization as well as NoSQL and time series databases.
• Experience or knowledge in computer networking and / or security concepts
• Microsoft Software experience (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Basic knowledge of server (Windows, Linux) infrastructure
• Understanding of Incident and Change Management best practices
• Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow / Helix
• Strong understanding of Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP)
• Participation in quarterly and yearly team training goals to complete in-demand industry certifications such as: AWS, GCP, and Snowflake.
