About the Role
Turium AI is building Qale — an AI-native communication platform designed for the future of realtime collaboration and intelligent communication.
We are looking for a strong Go Backend Engineer to help build scalable backend systems powering realtime messaging, WebSockets, distributed services, event-driven systems, and modern infrastructure.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving challenging problems around performance, concurrency, scale, reliability, and low-latency systems.
What You'll Work On
- Build high-performance backend services in Go / Golang
- Develop realtime communication systems (messaging, notifications, presence, streaming)
- Design and optimise WebSocket infrastructure
- Build distributed, event-driven backend architectures
- Design scalable APIs, services, and internal platform components
- Improve system performance, observability, reliability, and scalability
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain backend services using Go
- Build distributed systems with strong focus on scalability and resilience
- Develop realtime backend capabilities using WebSockets / PubSub patterns
- Work with asynchronous workflows, queues, and event processing
- Optimise performance, concurrency, memory usage, and system efficiency
- Design APIs and service integrations
- Collaborate with product, frontend, AI, and infrastructure teams
- Contribute to architecture and engineering best practices
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience in:
- Go / Golang
- Distributed Systems
- WebSockets / Realtime Systems
- Messaging / Event-Driven Architecture
- Concurrency, Goroutines, Channels
- High-scale backend development
- REST APIs / gRPC
- Databases, caching, and performance optimisation
- Experience with some of the following is highly desirable:
- Kafka / NATS / Redis / PubSub systems
- PostgreSQL / Redis / ScyllaDB
- Docker / Kubernetes
- gRPC / Protobuf
- AWS / GCP / Cloud infrastructure
- Prometheus / Grafana / Observability tooling
