Job Description

As bp transitions to an integrated energy company, we must adapt to a changing world and maintain competitive performance. bp's customers & products (C&P) business area is setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Pune, India. This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities at scale, demonstrating technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. About The Role

As the GME (Global Marine & Energy) Data Analyst, you will provide end‑to‑end analytics, reporting and intelligence support across the GME performance ecosystem, acting as a recognised subject‑matter expert within the data domain. The role focuses on the design, build, maintenance and optimisation of business‑critical Power BI dashboards, reports, data queries and digital tools that support performance management, pricing, sales, operations and finance teams.

Working closely with business stakeholders and technology partners (including AWS and Postgres support teams), you will enable adoption, stability and continuous improvement of analytics and intelligence solutions aligned to business strategy, governance and regulatory standards. You will flexibly operate as an SME across initiatives, supporting system changes, organisation redesigns and evolving data needs, while contributing to scalable and sustainable Business Intelligence transformation across GME.

Shift Timing: 1:00pm to 10:00pm IST

Key Accountabilities

  • Build, manage and maintain a portfolio of Power BI dashboards and reports, including high‑usage products such as GME Flash, Project Rigour, Pricing App and a wider standard reporting portfolio
  • Own and prioritise analytics‑related demand through PBI build and maintenance, balancing enhancement requests, fixes and business‑critical timelines
  • Deliver data queries, mappings and ad‑hoc extracts to support evolving business needs (e.g. customer, account manager and area remapping)
  • Provide superuser governance and support across analytics tools, including access rights management during periods of organisational and system change
  • Act as a key advisor to AWS and Postgres support teams, offering guidance on data structure, reporting logic and user requirements
  • Support PowerApps linked to analytics workflows and ensure solutions remain functional and scalable
  • Contribute to testing, validation and business readiness for system changes and new platforms (e.g. AWS / ORCA implementations)
  • Enable user adoption through targeted training, guidance and day‑to‑day support as tools and datasets evolve
  • Contribute to the Digital, Data & Analytics change backlog, recommending enhancements and improvements based on user feedback and performance insights
  • Act as SME for analytics initiatives across GME, supporting cross‑functional teams and global stakeholders across time zones
  • Apply a solution‑focused mindset to scale global data products while enabling local configuration and flexibility where required

Experience Required

  • Minimum experience 5 years
  • Experience in delivering analytics/BI for business transformation
  • Understanding of data domains across sales, marketing, CRM, ordering, cash collection, dedication, and product portfolio
  • Hands-on with SQL, data sourcing, and cloud architecture
  • Skilled in statistical modeling and ML
  • Experience working with global, multi-functional teams

Skills & Proficiencies

  • Strong documentation skills (scope, critical metrics, test criteria, UAT)
  • Expertise in high-dimensional data modeling
  • PowerBI dashboarding and PoC design
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Power App, Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL, Python
  • Strong influencing and organisational change skills
