Role Description

Industrial Relations Strategy and Policy Development:

oResponsible for IR & ER for all manufacturing plants & offices in India.

oFormulate and implement strategies to strengthen industrial relations within the company.

oDevelop and enforce policies to prevent industrial disputes and maintain a positive working environment.

oAdvise senior management on IR-related matters, providing insight on policies, regulations, and emerging trends.

Union Negotiation and Management:

oLead and manage negotiations with trade unions, employee representatives, and labor groups.

oAct as the primary point of contact between management and union representatives.

oOversee the renewal of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) and manage the relationship with unions to ensure smooth cooperation.

Conflict Resolution and Dispute Management:

oHandle and resolve industrial disputes, grievances, and conflicts that arise within the organization.

oLead investigations and facilitate resolutions in case of strikes, work stoppages, or other disruptions.

oWork closely with legal counsel to manage labor litigation matters.

Labor Law Compliance:

oEnsure that the organization adheres to all labor laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.

oKeep up-to-date with changes in labor laws and industrial relations practices and ensure compliance across all operations.

oProvide guidance to HR and management on labor-related legal issues and implications.

oLaisioning with Internal & External, Govt. officials.

Employee Welfare and Engagement:

oPromote employee engagement initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and productivity.

oWork with HR to ensure that employee welfare programs align with IR goals.

oAddress employee grievances and concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Reporting and Documentation:

oMaintain accurate records of all industrial relations activities, including negotiations, agreements, and disputes.

oProvide regular reports to senior management on IR trends, issues, and resolutions.

Training and Development:

oConduct training sessions for managers and employees on industrial relations, dispute resolution, and labor law compliance.

oBuild awareness of organizational policies and employee rights to ensure informed communication within the workforce.

Risk Management:

oIdentify potential risks related to industrial relations and propose proactive solutions to mitigate them.

oSupport the HR department in managing the organization's reputation and minimizing operational disruptions

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Industrial Relations and Employee Relations, including negotiating union agreements and resolving disputes
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and regulatory compliance in the region
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage large teams and drive organizational goals
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering and post graduation , Business Administration, or a related field; advanced certifications in HR/IR are a plus
  • Experience in designing and implementing workplace policies and programs
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to conflict resolution
