Role Objective
#Interface engineering #Engineering management #Value engineering #Vendor development
#Accountability #Collaboration #Lean team #Innovation
Lead end to end engineering, execution, and commissioning of CBG (Compressed Biogas, Renewable Natural Gas) projects, while building standardized systems for scalable multi-plant deployment.
This role is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on spec, and with strong integration between design, execution, and operations learnings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering & System Integration
2. Standardization & System Building
· Develop and implement:
o Standard equipment specifications
o Vendor evaluation and selection frameworks
o Commissioning and inspection checklists
· Establish scalable engineering processes
· Define and implement engineering standards
· Maintain national and international Codes and Standard, other technical standards, and design guidelines to be utilized during the complete process.
· Build documentation for:
o Lessons learned
o Design improvements across projects
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
· Work closely with:
o External engineering consultants (for engineering deliveries)
o Procurement team (for technical alignment)
o Plant operations team (to incorporate real-world learnings)
o External process experts (for optimization inputs)
4. Quality Control
· Manage external quality consultants
· Oversee pre-dispatch inspections and quality control
5. Site Leadership (Critical Phases)
· Be physically present at site during:
o Civil finishing stages
o Mechanical erection
o Gas system integration
o Commissioning (initial 3–4 weeks)
· Work closely with site teams to resolve execution challenges in real time
6. Multi-Project Capability
· Support parallel execution of 2–3 projects
· Prioritize critical interventions across sites
· Build systems that reduce dependency on individuals
7. Margin Protection & Cost Optimization
· Protect project economics through disciplined engineering oversight and value engineering initiatives.
· Support negotiations with Sellers, EPC contractors, suppliers, and engineering consultants when design scope impacts project cost.
Role Expectations (Important)
This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely desk-based position
Requires regular travel to project sites and extended presence during key phases
Success will be measured by:
· Quality of execution
· Reduction in repeat issues across plants
· Ability to build scalable systems
Candidate Profile
Experience
10–15 years in engineering experience in Natural Gas / Petroleum, O&G Utility, Chemical Industries, process industries, wastewater, distilleries or in any core Electro-Mechanical Industries.
Strong exposure to:
Multi-vendor coordination
Erection & Commissioning
Education
B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical / Chemical / related engineering discipline
Skills & Attributes
Strong execution and problem-solving capability
Ability to work across disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, process)
Structured thinker with focus on building systems and processes
Willingness to be onsite during critical project phases
Collaborative mindset (not a centralized controller)
What We Are NOT Looking For
· Purely design/consulting profiles without execution experience
· Individuals who centralize all decisions and create dependency
What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
· Standardization of key engineering and procurement specs
· Clear commissioning and quality checklists in place
· Improved coordination between design, execution, and operations
