Job Description

A Real Estate company is hiring for the profile of GM/DGM- Contracts.

Location: Gurgaon

Experience: 10-15 years

About the role

Responsible for leading contract management across projects, including tendering, negotiations, drafting, and ensuring compliance with legal and commercial terms. The role focuses on risk mitigation, cost control, claims management, and safeguarding the organization's contractual and financial interests throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Establish technical parameters for various construction contracts

Recommend award of contracts based on identified parameters

Evaluate proposals on technical grounds and interact with potential awardees

Draft and execute construction contracts and analyze complex bids that may require integrating proposals from subcontractors and other potential suppliers

Support and advise management on contractual rights and obligations and serve as a resource for interpretation of terms and conditions and crafting alternative language for complex non-standard contract documents

Act as Quality certifier for all large contracts in terms of payments / clearing bills

Contract Management & Negotiation:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, MOUs, lease agreements, and other legal documents related to real estate transactions.

Ensure all contracts are aligned with legal and regulatory frameworks, minimizing risks for the company.

Coordinate with internal departments (legal, finance, operations, and project teams) to ensure contract compliance.

Legal & Compliance Oversight:

Ensure contracts adhere to local, state, and national real estate laws and regulations.

Monitor changes in real estate laws and policies that may impact the company's projects and provide guidance accordingly.

Handle contract disputes, claims, and litigation in coordination with legal counsel.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

Maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, consultants, and government

authorities to ensure smooth contract execution.

Evaluate and assess vendor performance based on contractual obligations.

Risk Management & Mitigation:

Identify potential risks in contracts and develop strategies for mitigation.

Ensure contract terms protect the company's financial and operational interests.

Documentation & Record Keeping:

Maintain a centralized repository for all contracts, ensuring proper documentation and retrieval processes.

Conduct regular contract audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Qualifications Needed

Education- Master/ bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

Experience- 10-15 years
