About the Role

The role will be a part of the Central Procurement Operations Team working closely with the Global Supplier Excellence & Responsible Sourcing Lead.

As a Human Rights Risk Assessment Junior Manager , you will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and managing human rights risks across our third-party suppliers. You will work closely with procurement and cross-functional teams to embed robust due diligence processes and drive continuous improvement across our supplier base.

About the role: (TE)

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess supplier risks using Sedex risk‑assessment insights to identify human‑rights, environmental, and compliance concerns. This could also rely on usage of other tools and resources

  • Review supplier assessments, audit findings (e.g., SMETA), and third-party intelligence to identify high-risk suppliers

  • Identify salient human rights risks (e.g., forced labour, child labour, worker welfare) across supplier categories and geographies

  • Support the implementation of Diageo's responsible sourcing and human rights due diligence framework aligned to UNGPs and OECD guidance

  • Recommend and track mitigation and remediation actions in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Support supplier capability building by guiding them on Sedex processes (where applicable), expectations, and required corrective actions for improvement.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, sustainability, legal) and external partners to address risks and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain

  • Maintain high-quality documentation and contribute to internal governance and reporting requirements

  • Monitor evolving regulatory and ESG requirements (e.g., Modern Slavery, EU due diligence regulations) and support readiness

Experience & Capabilities

  • Relevant experience in human rights, responsible sourcing, ESG, or supplier risk management (typically 5-9 years) , Prior Procurement Experience is preferred

  • Understanding of international human rights frameworks (UNGPs, ILO standards, OECD Due Diligence Guidance)

  • Experience working with supplier data, audits, or risk assessment methodologies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into action

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across procurement and business teams

  • Comfortable working in a global, matrixed environment
