Role Summary
This is a confidential search for a highly experienced Payroll Manager to join a leading organisation based in Cork. The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across global payroll processes. This is a senior, standalone role with significant visibility to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple countries (EMEA and/or Americas)
- Ensure full compliance with local statutory requirements, tax legislation, and social insurance regulations in each jurisdiction
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll queries from employees, HR, and Finance teams globally
- Partner with HR and Finance to ensure seamless integration of payroll data across SAP SuccessFactors and ADP platforms
- Drive process improvement and standardisation initiatives across global payroll operations
- Manage month-end and year-end payroll activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting
- Oversee vendor relationships with third-party payroll providers across international jurisdictions
- Maintain payroll policies and procedures documentation in line with best practice
- Lead, mentor, and develop payroll team members where applicable
- Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on payroll costs and compliance status
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 5+ years experience in a senior payroll management role with demonstrable global/multi-country payroll experience
- Proven hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors and/or ADP payroll platforms
- Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation (PAYE, PRSI, USC) and at least one additional international jurisdiction
- Track record of managing complex, high-volume payroll environments
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- IPASS qualification or equivalent payroll certification
- Experience working in a multinational or shared services environment
- Project management experience including payroll system implementations or migrations
- Familiarity with Workday or other HRIS platforms
