The Role & YOUR IMPACT
Do you have a deep subject matter expertise and a passion for risk management We're looking for a professional to join our First line Risk Management team within the Global Banking and Markets (GBM) Division. In this role, you would partner with front to back business units supporting our client franchise to manage and improve our operational risk & resilience, particularly related to Third-Party Risk Profile. Your opportunity for high visibility impact includes analyzing the key risks and controls managed by GBM, applying risk management tools to monitor and communicate to the leadership group on these risks, associated remediation plans, and sharing best practices to continuously improve Risk management culture and the control environment.
OUR IMPACT
The GBM Third Party Risk Management & Strategy team within GBM oversees the control framework and guides GS managers implement oversight on a broad spectrum of processes managed by Third Parties. The Risk Control position in GBM Third Party Risk Management & Strategy team provides an opportunity for a dynamic and risk-aware individual to take part in shaping GBM's Third Party control framework related to a broad spectrum of firm policies and processes. The role is part of a team responsible for overseeing aspects of Risk Management, Policy Implementation, Quality Assurance, Audit facilitation and relative analytics for the GBM teams. The successful candidate will be able to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Contingent Worker Risk Management Program team. This role is critical in supporting the firm's robust framework for management, oversight, and reporting of risks associated with our contingent workforce. The Analyst will play a key role in ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, contributing to the overall resilience and security of the firm's operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with 1-2 years of experience in risk management or project management to develop expertise in a dynamic and evolving area of financial services.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
- Program Support & Execution: Assist in the day-to-day management, execution, and ongoing enhancement of the firmwide vendors providing contingent workers, ensuring effective oversight of the contingent workforce lifecycle.
- Vendor Interaction: Assist in communicating firm expectations and requirements to contingent worker vendors and service providers, ensuring their understanding and adherence to contractual obligations and risk controls.
- Risk Assessment & Due Diligence: Support the process of conducting risk assessments for new and existing contingent worker engagements, including evaluating potential operational, financial, information security, compliance, and reputational risks, and documenting findings for management review.
- Compliance Monitoring: Monitor adherence to firm policies, standards, and regulatory guidelines pertaining to contingent workers, such as labor laws, and third-party management requirements, and report on compliance status.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date program documentation, including policies, procedures, risk registers, key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs), and assessment records. Develop comprehensive reports/analysis, presentations for management and stakeholders on program status, risk posture, and emerging trends related to contingent worker risk.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with various internal stakeholders, including Human Resources, Legal, Procurement, Information Technology, Business Units, and Compliance, to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to contingent worker risk management.
- Issue Management: Support the identification, tracking, and resolution of identified risk issues, control deficiencies, and non-compliance events related to contingent workers.
- Process Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at continuously improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and automation of the Contingent Worker Risk Management Program processes.
Skills & Experience We're Looking For
- Experience: 1-2 years of professional experience in risk management, project management, compliance, audit, or a related field, preferably within the financial services industry or a highly regulated environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Risk Management, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to gather, analyze, interpret, and present data to identify risks, track performance, and propose actionable solutions. Experience with creating Dashboards will be a added advantage.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required, with strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. Familiarity with risk management software or GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platforms is a plus.
- Risk Acumen: Foundational understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and control environments.
- Regulatory Awareness: Basic understanding of regulatory requirements related to third-party risk management or contingent worker oversight (e.g., Interagency Guidance on Third-Party Relationships, data protection regulations) is beneficial.
