Roles & Responsibility (Job Profile)
- Conduct detailed accident/incident investigations using methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Why-Why Analysis, and Fishbone Diagram, and implement Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Ensure timely reporting of accidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses as per statutory requirements and internal protocols.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under the Factories Act and Maharashtra Factory Rules.
- Ensure compliance with environmental norms and legal requirements and monitor Environment Management Systems including ETP and STP/CSTP operations.
- Monitor hazardous waste management, disposal practices, and maintain records as per applicable rules.
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify potential hazards and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Implement and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) system for high-risk activities such as hot work, confined space entry, work at height, and electrical work.
- Conduct mock drills for emergency preparedness (fire, chemical spill, evacuation, etc.) and evaluate effectiveness of emergency response systems.
- Carry out Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) observations and implement initiatives to improve safe behaviour on the shop floor.
- Track and analyse safety KPIs such as Accident Frequency Rate (AFR), Accident Severity Rate (ASR), near-miss trends, and safety observations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct safety training programs for new joiners and employees and promote safety awareness across the plant.
- Lead Safety Committee meetings and drive safety culture initiatives in coordination with HR and other departments.
- Conduct internal safety audits and support external audits, statutory inspections, and ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 systems.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation as per legal and organizational requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement by implementing best practices and learnings from incidents.
Competency (Candidate Profile)
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in Plant SHE / Safety Management.
- Education Required: Mandatory: ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) approved by MSBT
- Experience Required: 5-7 years of experience in Plant SHE / Safety Management
- Skills Required:
- Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical OR B.Sc / B.E / B.Tech
- Strong knowledge of safety laws, statutory compliance, and environmental regulations.
- Hands-on experience in safety audits, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
- Good communication, leadership, and training skills.
- Ability to drive safety culture and work with cross-functional teams.
