GL Accountant

Job Description: The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing general and technical accounting guidance to clients. This role will involve leading engagements related to US GAAP accounting standards, including implementation, interpretation, and application of complex accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert on US GAAP accounting standards and regulations, staying abreast of emerging trends and developments in the accounting profession.

• Manage accounting projects for the FAAS vertical, including assessment of accounting policies, technical accounting, and implementation of new accounting standards.

• Supervise all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring thorough preparation and coordination.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

• Provide guidance and support to clients on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations and other areas.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on US GAAP accounting standards and regulations, staying abreast of emerging trends and developments in the accounting profession.

• Manage client relationships, including regular communication, project updates, and issue resolution to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

• Work with the FAAS Leader to track operational/financial metrics and overall business results of the FAAS vertical.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accounting solutions and strategies tailored to client needs and objectives.

Qualifications:

1) CA inter, CA, Masters in Finance or equivalent.

2) 3 + years of experience in accounting and finance roles, with a focus on US GAAP standards.

3) Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and regulations and their application to financial reporting.

4) Knowledge of Netsuite, Quickbooks or Sage is preferred.

5) Experience leading and managing client engagements, including project planning.

6) Excellent communication skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

7) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively identify and address accounting issues and challenges.

8) Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
