We are seeking an experienced GIS / Spatial Analyst to support environmental planning, impact assessment and conservation projects for our client.
PURPOSE:
By leveraging GIS technology, the Spatial Analyst helps integrate diverse datasets (e.g. 3D topography, survey data, engineering drawings) into comprehensive maps and models, enabling clearer visualisation and informed decision-making by project teams and clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Spatial Analyst you will be responsible for:
- Performing spatial analysis to identify patterns, relationships, and potential environmental impacts (such as habitat loss, pollution dispersion, or land use conflicts), providing insights that guide mitigation strategies and project design.
- Developing data collection tools and data management protocols to enable efficient and accurate spatial data collection, storage, post-processing and visualisation.
- Developing models and scripts to enable rapid analysis of spatial data.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Geospatial Science, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline with a specialisation in GIS/Spatial Technologies.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in spatial analysis, GIS modelling, and geospatial data management.
- Proven experience in the development of spatial models and data analysis scripts or tools such as Python, R, SQL, ArcPy etc.
- Experience working on environmental, infrastructure, land-use, or ecological mapping projects is desirable.
