Role Description The German Language Assessor is a full-time, hybrid role based in Mumbai, with some flexibility for work-from-home arrangements. The role involves assessing candidates German language proficiency through oral and written evaluations, structured interviews, and standardized assessment tools. The assessor will design, administer, and refine assessment methods aligned with client and institutional requirements, and provide clear feedback and reports on candidates language levels. Daily responsibilities include reviewing test materials, scoring assessments, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with training teams to help improve language programs and learning outcomes. The role may also include participation in quality assurance activities, calibration sessions, and occasional coordination with international stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong German language proficiency (preferably C1 or above, with solid grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills).
- Experience in language assessment, testing, or teaching, with the ability to design and evaluate oral, written, and standardized language tests.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear feedback writing, report preparation, and professional interaction with candidates and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and analytical skills for objective evaluation, scoring consistency, and accurate documentation of assessment results.
- Comfort with digital tools and platforms for online assessments, data entry, reporting, and collaboration in a hybrid work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Languages, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; formal German language certifications (e.g., Goethe, TestDaF) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in academic counseling, recruitment assessment, or international education sectors is beneficial.
- Ability to work ethically, respect diverse backgrounds, and align with the organization's values of transparency, sustainability, and customer centricity.
