Job Role Description

The Development & Production Geoscientist Advanced integrates multi-discipline subsurface data, evaluates reservoir connectivity, and develops geologic models that inform field development and optimization plans. This role applies multi-basin experience, interprets complex geological and geophysical datasets, and improves workflows for uncertainty analysis, risk assessment, and reservoir characterizations. The role collaborates across technical teams and contributes to decision-making through robust subsurface evaluations. Many skills map to this job role (Geologic Modeling, Field Evaluation, Field Optimization & Abandonment, etc.). It is not the expectation to build deep knowledge and specialization across them all, but rather a select few, enhanced with knowledge across a broad spectrum of fundamental and foundational geoscience skills.

Job Role Responsibilities

- Integrate and interpret geological, geophysical, and engineering data to map reservoir architecture, connectivity, and heterogeneity.
- Develop geological models and refine stratigraphic and structural frameworks across fields and apply regional and play-scale insights to strengthen reservoir characterization and field assessments.
- Evaluate subsurface uncertainty and risk drivers, coordinate with cross-functional teams to align interpretations with well planning, optimize workflows, and evaluate volumetric scenarios.
- Actively engage production team to update interpretation and develop insights for field optimization and abandonment plans, update reservoir characterization and interpretation based on new data and / or reservoir performance.
- Execute and update standard and advanced workflows, standardize documentation, and improve consistency and cycle time.
- Represent geoscience skills during internal meetings (Peer Reviews, etc.), within professional communities, and external partner reviews (Joint Interest / Joint Venture / Operated by Other), informs benchmarking, and influences development of new technology solutions with vendors.
