Paul Street has four main divisions: Traditional Affiliate, Amazon Affiliate, Celebrity & Influencer Partnerships, and Brand PR. We are now building a new practice around Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI Search visibility to help our clients win in the next era of digital discovery.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a GEO & AI Search Specialist to own and scale our emerging AI search optimization practice. This role sits at the intersection of SEO, AI, content strategy, and client services. You will be responsible for building our GEO methodology, managing the platform and tooling that powers it, and working directly with clients to drive measurable visibility gains across AI-powered search engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and others.

This is a high-ownership, high-impact role for someone who is deeply curious about how large language models surface and prioritize information, and who wants to build a category-defining service offering from the ground up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Platform & Operations

  • Own the end-to-end management of our GEO/AI Search monitoring and optimization platform, including tool selection, configuration, reporting, and iteration
  • Build and maintain dashboards tracking brand and client visibility across AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google SGE/AI Overviews, Copilot, etc.)
  • Develop and document repeatable workflows, SOPs, and playbooks for AI search audits, optimization sprints, and ongoing monitoring
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging tools, APIs, and data sources that enhance our GEO capabilities

Strategy & Research

  • Develop Paul Street's proprietary GEO methodology grounded in how LLMs retrieve, rank, and cite sources
  • Conduct competitive and landscape research to identify opportunities for client brands to improve their presence in AI-generated answers
  • Stay ahead of shifts in AI search behavior, algorithm updates, and platform changes; translate findings into actionable strategy
  • Collaborate with our content, affiliate, and PR teams to ensure GEO principles are embedded across all client deliverables

Client Management & Growth

  • Serve as the primary GEO strategist for client accounts, leading kickoffs, strategy presentations, and ongoing optimization reviews
  • Translate complex AI search concepts into clear, compelling narratives for brand stakeholders and C-suite audiences
  • Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within existing client relationships
  • Contribute to new business pitches and proposals by articulating our GEO value proposition and demonstrating ROI frameworks

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 2–4 years of experience in SEO, content strategy, digital marketing, or a related performance discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of how AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) surface and cite content
  • Experience managing SaaS platforms, marketing technology stacks, or analytics dashboards
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy while also getting hands-on with data, tools, and execution
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills with a track record of managing brand or agency relationships
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

Preferred

  • Understanding of LLM architecture, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and how models select and prioritize sources
  • Experience in affiliate marketing, performance PR, or creator/influencer partnerships
  • Familiarity with Notion, Slack, and data visualization tools
  • Background working with DTC, health & wellness, or Amazon-native brands
