About the Role
ThetaZero is building a next-generation AI-powered platform that combines multimodal input processing and advanced GenAI workflows.
We are looking for a passionate AI Backend Engineer who can own the complete backend and AI engine including LLM pipelines, multimodal ingestion, contextual memory, embeddings, retrieval, and future agent-based automation.
This is a builder's role, perfect for someone who wants to see their work shape a global-scale product.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Engineering
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Python + FastAPI
- Build REST APIs consumed by mobile and web clients
- Implement secure user/session management
- Write modular, testable, production-ready backend code
- Ensure production-grade quality, testing, and version control
GenAI Engineering
- Build chat flows, RAG pipelines, and contextual memory systems
- Design embeddings-based retrieval (text, voice, image)
- Implement structured reasoning and chain-of-thought workflows
- Craft and refine prompts; manage LLM efficiencies & cost
AI Agents
- Implement agent-based workflows using: CrewAI, Autogen, Swarm, LangGraph
- Build multi-agent collaboration flows to automate complex tasks
Multimodal Processing
- Voice STT embeddings pipeline
- PDF/Doc/Image ingestion with OCR & text extraction
- Metadata storage + indexing into vector DB
- Intelligent summarization, structuring, and tagging
Infrastructure & DevOps
- Containerize services using Docker
- Collaborate with the DevOps team for Container Registry + Container Apps on Azure or AWS
- Contribute to the environment setup and optimization
- Monitoring, logging, performance tuning
- Basic understanding of Terraform (optional but good)
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Flutter, React, and UI/UX teams
- Participate in architecture decisions and product brainstorming
- Own the backend roadmap and deliver features reliably
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Python
- FastAPI / Flask (FastAPI preferred)
- Experience with OpenAI APIs, LLMs, and embeddings
- Knowledge of vector databases (Qdrant, Pinecone, MongoDB Vector Search, Chroma)
- Experience with LangChain / LlamaIndex
- Docker + Git fundamentals
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Good-to-Have Skills
- CrewAI, LangGraph, Autogen, Swarm (any one)
- Azure AI Services (Speech, Document Intelligence)
- Experience with Agents / tool-calling / function-calling
- Redis, Pub/Sub, message queues
- Azure Container Apps / ACR
- MLOps basics
