The Opportunity
We're looking for an exceptional AI Engineer to design, implement, and scale the AI systems powering OneCounsel. You will work closely with Anthropic Claude and modern LLM ecosystems to build intelligent workflows, document extraction systems, and case valuation models.
This is a rare chance to:

What You'll Do
AI Development & Integration
- Implement AI-driven document extraction using Claude
- Build parsing and intelligence systems for legal documents
- Develop case valuation algorithms
- Build prescriptive workflow engines
- Implement prompt engineering strategies
- Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems
Backend Architecture
- Design backend services in Node.js/Python
- Build REST APIs for AI integration
- Implement async job processing
- Create pipelines for document processing and storage (S3)
- Optimize LLM usage for cost and performance
- Implement fault tolerance and retry logic
Data & ML
- Design data models for legal documents and cases
- Perform data validation and quality assurance
- Build feedback loops to improve model accuracy
- Develop evaluation metrics
- Explore fine-tuning and few-shot learning
- Work with structured/unstructured legal datasets
Collaboration & Quality
- Collaborate asynchronously with US-based founder
- Integrate AI features with React/Next.js UI
- Write tests for AI components and services
- Document AI architecture and prompt strategies
- Participate in code reviews
- Monitor AI systems in production
Who You Are
Required Skills
- 8+ years of software development experience
- 3+ years with AI/ML in production
- Experience with Claude, OpenAI, or similar LLMs
- Proficiency in Python or Node.js/TypeScript
- Experience with OCR, text parsing, and document intelligence
- Experience with TTS, Translation, Transcription
- Experience with building models from scratch
- Experience with integrating with Java/Python backend applications
- Strong prompt engineering capabilities
- Experience building Secure REST APIs
- AWS experience (S3, Lambda, etc.)
- Strong testing fundamentals
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
