Role Description The Generative AI Engineer will design, develop, and optimize generative AI models and pipelines for a variety of applications, such as text, code, image, and multimedia content generation. This full-time remote role involves building and refining prompts, fine-tuning models, evaluating model outputs, and implementing best practices for safety, reliability, and performance. The engineer will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, integrate models into production systems, and continuously improve model quality using user feedback and quantitative metrics. Day-to-day activities include data preprocessing, experimentation with different architectures and parameter settings, creating documentation and technical reports, and contributing to internal tools, frameworks, and reusable components for generative AI development.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in computer science and machine learning, including algorithms, data structures, statistics, and optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks and tools (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Hugging Face, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, or similar).
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI and ML development (e.g., Python, and optionally Java, C++, or JavaScript for integration work).
- Experience working with large language models and generative architectures (e.g., transformers, diffusion models, VAEs), including fine-tuning and prompt engineering.
- Ability to design and run experiments, analyze data, evaluate model performance with appropriate metrics, and iterate based on quantitative and qualitative feedback.
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices, including bias mitigation, safety, privacy, and secure handling of data and model outputs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, MLOps tooling, and deployment practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, model monitoring) is highly beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
