About The Opportunity
Healthcare tertiary care / multi-specialty hospital sector serving patients in Andhra Pradesh. We are recruiting an on-site Consultant General Surgeon to deliver high-quality surgical care, lead perioperative services, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve surgical outcomes in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level preoperative assessment, operative care and postoperative management for general surgery patients across elective and emergency settings.
- Perform a broad range of procedures including laparoscopic and open abdominal surgeries, hernia repairs, appendectomies, cholecystectomies and urgent trauma interventions.
- Lead emergency theatre calls and manage trauma admissions, triage, stabilization and definitive surgical treatment as required.
- Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents and nursing staff; enforce operating theatre protocols, infection control and patient-safety standards.
- Collaborate with anaesthesia, critical care and specialty teams to optimise perioperative pathways and reduce length of stay and complications.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and support continuous quality-improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
- MBBS plus DNB/MS in General Surgery (or equivalent) required for consultant-level practice.
- Valid medical registration to practise in India and eligibility to work in Andhra Pradesh.
- Proven clinical experience in a hospital surgical department with exposure to emergency/trauma caseloads; strong operative log demonstrating laparoscopic and open procedures.
