GM Sales – South India

Lead the Next Phase of Market Leadership in Process Equipment

Role Purpose

HLE Glascoat is looking for an entrepreneurial and relationship-driven business leader to strengthen and expand our leadership position across South India.

This role is for someone who combines humility with commercial aggression — a leader who can build deep customer trust, compete intelligently against strong incumbents, and create long-term market influence through credibility, technical understanding, and execution excellence.

South India is one of the most strategic growth markets for HLE Glascoat. While we already hold strong positions across product categories nationally, we aspire to become the #1 preferred partner in the region across Glass Lined Equipment and allied process technologies.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of the region and progressively take on larger leadership responsibility within the organization.

General Manager – Sales (South India)

Reporting To

VP Sales – South India

Team Structure

Initially an individual contributor role with the mandate to progressively build and lead a high-performance regional team over the next 9–12 months.

Key Responsibilities

Market Leadership & Growth

  • Drive market share growth across South India for Glass Lined Equipment and allied product lines
  • Develop and execute region-specific growth strategies with strong commercial discipline
  • Strengthen HLE Glascoat's positioning against established regional competitors through superior customer engagement and value selling

Strategic Customer Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with CXOs, plant leaders, project teams, consultants, and influencers across Chemical and Pharma companies
  • Lead strategic Key Account Management for large and high-potential customers
  • Identify emerging investment trends and project opportunities in the region

Business Excellence

  • Deliver profitable order booking growth while maintaining pricing discipline and healthy collections
  • Manage product mix, commercial quality, and regional business profitability
  • Ensure strong forecasting, pipeline management, and sales execution rigor

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Applications, and Service teams to maximize customer value and win ratio
  • Partner internally to ensure responsiveness, solution quality, and execution excellence

Team & Culture Building

  • Build a performance-oriented yet grounded regional culture
  • Mentor and develop future sales talent within the region
  • Lead with humility, ownership, customer centricity, and high personal credibility

What We Are Looking For

Non-Negotiables

  • 15+ years of sales and business development experience
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience selling to Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical companies
  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Chemical preferred) with MBA from a reputed institute
  • Strong network across commercial and technical leadership teams in South India
  • Proven track record in selling differentiated, high-value engineered products or solutions (not commodity products)
