General Manager

S5 Agency World is looking for a strong and hands-on Chief Operating Officer / General Manager India to lead our India hub in Mumbai.

The India hub is a core delivery centre for our global maritime and port agency business, providing operational and financial services to international clients and S5 offices worldwide. The hub plays a key role in our global service delivery model and is central to ensuring consistent, efficient and high-quality support across regions.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and further development of the India hub. You will lead the local teams, manage operational and financial service delivery, improve performance and reporting, strengthen process control, and support the further growth and professionalisation of the hub.

This is a senior operational management role within the maritime / port agency industry. We are looking for a leader who understands international shipping, port agency operations, client service delivery and hub-based support models. The right candidate is hands-on, structured, commercially aware and able to work closely with both local teams and international stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the India hub in Mumbai
• Manage operational and financial services for the global maritime / port agency business
• Ensure high-quality service delivery, performance reporting and cost control
• Improve processes, systems and ways of working
• Support client onboarding and implementation
• Act as escalation point for operational and service issues
• Build strong local teams and support a global service mindset

What we are looking for

• Senior management experience in maritime services, port agency, ship agency, marine logistics or a closely related sector
• Strong understanding of port agency operations and international shipping services
• Experience managing operational teams, hub operations or shared service delivery
• Good financial and commercial understanding
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A hands-on, structured and results-driven approach

Please note: this is not a general operations role. Relevant experience in the maritime, port agency, ship agency or marine services industry is essential.
