Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and responsible General Manager to take complete operational responsibility for our resort at Saikheda, Nagpur. The General Manager will manage day-to-day resort operations, guest experience, staff, food & beverage, housekeeping, maintenance coordination, events, vendor management and overall property performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overall Resort Operations

· Take complete responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the resort.

· Ensure smooth functioning of Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Maintenance, Security and other departments.

· Establish and maintain operational SOPs and service standards.

· Ensure the resort is clean, safe, well-maintained and guest-ready at all times.

· Coordinate with management regarding operational requirements and major decisions.

2. Guest Experience & Hospitality

· Ensure high-quality guest service and hospitality standards.

· Handle guest feedback, complaints and special requests professionally.

· Monitor guest satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

· Ensure smooth check-in, check-out and overall guest journey.

· Build a strong hospitality culture among employees.

3. Staff & Team Management

· Recruit, train and manage resort staff.

· Prepare staff duties, shifts and manpower requirements.

· Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity and performance.

· Conduct regular staff briefings and departmental meetings.

· Identify training requirements and improve employee performance.

· Ensure adequate manpower during weekends, holidays and events.

4. Food & Beverage Operations

· Oversee restaurant, kitchen, banquet and catering operations.

· Monitor food quality, presentation and service.

· Control food costs, wastage and inventory.

· Coordinate menu planning and pricing with management/chef.

· Ensure hygiene and food safety standards are maintained.

· Monitor F&B revenue and profitability.

5. Sales & Revenue Generation

· Develop strategies to increase room occupancy and resort revenue.

· Promote the resort for weekend stays, corporate events, weddings, parties, family functions, conferences, day outings and other events.

· Coordinate with sales and marketing teams.

· Build relationships with corporate clients, event planners, travel agents and local businesses.

· Monitor competitor pricing and market positioning.

6. Financial & Cost Control

· Prepare and monitor departmental budgets.

· Control operational expenses without compromising guest experience.

· Monitor daily sales, expenses, cash collection and billing.

· Review P&L performance with management.

· Control food cost, manpower cost, utility expenses and wastage.

· Ensure proper approval procedures for purchases and expenses.

7. Vendor & Procurement Management

· Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers.

· Obtain and compare quotations where required.

· Ensure timely procurement of food, beverages, housekeeping and maintenance materials.

· Negotiate rates and commercial terms with vendors.

· Monitor vendor performance and service quality.

8. Property Maintenance

· Coordinate maintenance of electrical, plumbing, civil, HVAC, landscaping, swimming pool and other infrastructure.

· Conduct regular property inspections.

· Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

· Immediately address maintenance issues affecting guest experience or safety.

9. Safety, Hygiene & Compliance

· Ensure compliance with applicable hospitality, fire safety, food safety and local regulatory requirements.

· Maintain proper records and licenses.

· Ensure fire safety equipment and emergency systems are operational.

· Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the property.

10. Reporting to Management

· Occupancy and revenue

· F&B sales

· Events and bookings

· Expenses and cost control

· Staff attendance and manpower

· Guest feedback

· Maintenance issues

· Inventory and procurement

· Monthly P&L

· Key operational issues and action plans

Candidate Profile

· 5–10+ years of experience in hotel, resort or hospitality operations.

· Previous experience as General Manager, Resort Manager, Hotel Manager or Operations Manager with overall operational exposure.

· Strong knowledge of hospitality operations.

· Good leadership and people-management skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Good understanding of P&L, budgeting and cost control.

· Ability to manage vendors and negotiate commercial terms.

· Strong guest-handling and problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to work independently and take ownership of the property.

· Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic reporting.

· Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays as required.
