Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Define and execute the R&D vision, strategy, and innovation roadmap
Drive long-term innovation in Decorative & Enamel Paints to ensure market leadership
Track global trends, new technologies, and emerging materials

Product Development & Innovation

Lead end-to-end development of advanced decorative and enamel paint products
Drive innovation in low-VOC, eco-friendly, and sustainable coatings
Oversee continuous improvement of existing products for performance and cost efficiency

R&D Operations & Governance

Establish best practices in formulation development, testing, and validation
Ensure efficient management of R&D labs, resources, and budgets
Strengthen documentation, IP development, and knowledge management systems

Cross-functional Collaboration

Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, marketing, and sales teams
Ensure seamless technology transfer and product commercialization
Align R&D efforts with market needs and customer expectations

Quality, Compliance & Regulatory

Ensure compliance with national and international standards, safety, and environmental norms
Liaise with regulatory authorities for approvals and certifications
Address critical quality issues and customer complaints with effective solutions

Leadership & Team Development

Lead and mentor a large team of R&D professionals, chemists, and engineers
Build a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Drive capability development and succession planning

Customer & Technical Engagement

Provide strategic technical support to key clients and stakeholders
Lead technical presentations, seminars, and training programs
Support high-value projects through site visits and expert guidance

Performance & Benchmarking

Benchmark products against competitors and global standards
Drive cost optimization, process efficiency, and product differentiation
Monitor R&D KPIs and ensure timely delivery of innovation projects
Desired Candidate Profile:

Qualification: B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc / PhD in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry / Polymer Science
20+ years of experience in Decorative & Enamel Paints R&D
Strong expertise in water-based and solvent-based coating technologies
Proven track record in new product development, innovation, and commercialization
Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making capabilities
