DESIGNATION : General Manager Quality

LOCATION: Cambodia

SALARY: Net USD 6,500 - USD 7000 + Benefits

OVERVIEW:

Our client is a leading multinational manufacturer seeking for a General Manager Quality who will be responsible for leading and governing end-to-end quality. This role ensures compliance with buyer requirements, international standards, and internal quality benchmarks while driving continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and operational excellence across the supply chain.

The position requires strong exposure to buyer-facing quality management, factory-level execution, and cross-functional leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strategic Quality Leadership

  • Define and implement the overall quality vision, framework, and governance model across buying office and manufacturing units
  • Align quality strategies with buyer expectations, brand compliance standards, and business objectives
  • Act as the senior quality representative for buyers, brands, auditors, and certification bodies

2. Manufacturing Quality Operations

  • Oversee quality systems across cutting, sewing, finishing, washing, and packing operations
  • Ensure robust in-line, end-line, and final inspection processes to minimize defects and rework
  • Drive root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and defect prevention programs
  • Collaborate closely with production, technical, IE, and merchandising teams to improve Right First Time (RFT) performance

3. Compliance, Audits & Certifications

  • Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO, WRAP, BSCI, SEDEX, OEKO-TEX, and buyer-specific audits
  • Lead internal and external audits, manage audit closures, and ensure sustained compliance
  • Oversee product safety, chemical management, testing protocols, and lab coordination

4. Process Improvement & Excellence

  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce quality costs and improve efficiency
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including defect rates, claim ratios, rejection percentages, and audit scores
  • Implement digital quality tools, dashboards, and reporting systems where applicable

5. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, mentor, and develop quality teams across buying office and manufacturing locations
  • Establish clear performance metrics, succession planning, and training programs
  • Promote a strong quality culture across all levels of the organization

6. Risk Management & Cost Control

  • Identify quality risks early in the product lifecycle and implement preventive measures
  • Reduce quality-related costs including rework, returns, claims, and penalties
  • Support commercial teams in managing buyer negotiations related to quality issues

PRE - REQUSITES:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Textile Engineering, Apparel Production, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 12+ years of progressive experience in apparel quality management
  • Proven experience working with international buying offices would be an added advantage
  • Hands-on experience with audits, compliance, and buyer negotiations
