Rubicon Research Limited is a fast-growing pharmaceutical formulation company delivering value to our customers and investors by developing, manufacturing, and marketing branded specialty and generic prescription pharmaceutical products in regulated markets.

Our product portfolio comprises over 250 SKUs across more than 70 product families. We have an established marketing, sales, and distribution platform in the US through our subsidiaries AdvaGen Pharma which markets non-branded prescription products, and Validus Pharmaceuticals which markets branded prescription products and promotes them to healthcare practitioners in the US.

We have two US FDA-inspected R&D facilities one each in India and Canada, and two manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra, India with multiple accreditations from multiple regulatory agencies such as US FDA, Food and Drugs Administration, Maharashtra (WHO-GMP accreditation) and Health Canada. Our facilities are equipped with various drug development and manufacturing capabilities across dosage forms.

Position Overview:

Demonstrated ability to streamline procurement processes using system-driven and digital interventions.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of risk management and mitigation across multilocation procurement setups.
  • Experience in at least two procurement categories: Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, Indirect Procurement (Capex/Opex).
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and communication capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of import/export regulations, customs procedures, logistics, and international trade compliance.
  • Aptitude for learning new concepts; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in SRM, SAP, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with a mindset for automation, process streamlining and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Functional Leadership

  • Lead endtoend procurement of all Direct (RM other than APIs, PM) and Indirect (Capex, Opex, consumables, R&D) categories (350 Cr).
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure availability of materials to avoid production capacity loss.
  • Drive procurement excellence through eprocurement, digital tools (MRP, P2P), automation, and process innovation.
  • Develop and manage SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) frameworks.

Cost, Budget & Performance Management

  • Monitor purchasing budgets, cost estimates and financial targets; present KPIs and performance updates to senior management.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities through value engineering, alternate vendor development, and business continuity planning.
  • Track market trends, global economic factors and regulatory changes to proactively refine sourcing strategies.

Supplier & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and cross-functional teams to support business goals and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and upskill the procurement team to enhance capability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Sustainability & Governance

  • Promote ethical, sustainable, and responsible procurement practices in line with corporate ESG goals.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering/Supply Chain/Business Administration; Master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in procurement within OTC/FMCG/Chemicals, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving and detailorientation skills.
