Role Summary
The Head of Procurement will lead all contracting and purchasing activities. This senior leadership role requires a unique blend of commercial acumen, technical aptitude, and profound risk management expertise.

Key Responsibilities
· Supplier Development: Identify, qualify, and manage a robust supply base, fostering long-term strategic relationships to ensure prioritised allocation and favourable commercial terms for the company's projects.
· Contractual De-risking: Design procurement contracts (EPC, Supply and Service) concerning Liquidated Damages (LDs), performance guarantees (e.g., efficiency, availability), warranty management and uptime of the equipment.
· Technical Interpretation: Act as the primary interface between the Project Execution team and vendors. Possess the technical depth to understand and challenge the specifications provided by the Technical/Engineering Manager and relate these factors directly to commercial viability.
· Techno-Commercial Offer Evaluation: Lead the cross-functional evaluation of all bids (Technical Manager for specs, Legal for terms). Synthesise technical merit, commercial pricing, and contractual risk into a single, comprehensive recommendation for executive approval.
· Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor global commodity markets (nickel, steel, copper etc), geopolitical risks, and technological advancements to proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and manage supply chain volatility.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
A bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) is preferred. An MBA or a master's in supply chain management is highly advantageous.
Experience
12+ years of progressive experience in large-scale with Energy, Oil & Gas, or Infrastructure sectors. Minimum 3 years of direct experience in procurement during the Project Installation Stage.
Technical Skills
Preferred: - Proficient in technical understanding of Gas related equipments
Core Competencies
Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Deep knowledge of contract laws and its implications. Proven track record of managing annual procurement budgets exceeding 50 Crore.
