Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a General Manager of Operations. The General Manager will oversee day-to-day operational activities, manage teams, and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes. Responsibilities include managing supply chain, production, quality, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and NPD — and build the systems and governance needed to scale reliably.managing budgets, optimizing operational workflows. aligning strategies with the company's goals. The chosen candidate will also play a critical role in achieving continuous improvement and fostering a high-performance work culture aligned with Tikitoro's mission and values.
What You'll Own
• Absorb all operational decision-making from the founder — no routine or exception ops decision should need founder approval
• Run supply chain end-to-end: procurement, contract manufacturing, vendor management, and redundancy across critical inputs
• Implement demand-supply planning and inventory governance — move from reactive stockouts to disciplined planning with safety stock norms and SKU segmentation
• Manage multi-warehouse 3PL network and channel-specific fulfilment for Amazon (FBA/FBF) and D2C separately
• Lead NPD from concept to launch; own SKU portfolio pruning alongside new launches
• Oversee QA, compliance, and audit readiness across manufacturing and supply chain
• Conduct systematic review of outsourced capabilities — identify what should be in-housed to reduce structural cost drag
• Build operational dashboards, KPIs, and weekly/monthly review rhythms; become the primary ops voice in executive reviews
Who This Is For
• 12–18 years in operations; proven experience in FMCG, personal care, or D2C brands
• Track record building/scaling operations, not just managing steady-state
• Strong in supply chain, contract manufacturing, inventory planning, and demand forecasting
• Experience with Amazon FBA/FBF and multi-channel fulfillment
• Comfortable in founder-led, resource-constrained environments
• Education: Bachelor's in Operations, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering (MBA / Chemical Engineering a plus)
First 12 Months
90 Days: Map all operational decisions flowing to founder; complete ops audit; establish weekly reviews and ops dashboards.
3–6 Months: Implement demand-supply planning system; ensure founder is no longer the daily coordination hub; begin in-housing critical capabilities.
6–12 Months: Achieve zero stockouts on core SKUs; deliver consistent NPD launches; build channel-differentiated fulfilment model; drive structural cost improvement through in-housing.
