Job Overview

General Manager / Director of Operation

In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee and optimize the firm's entire operational infrastructure, ensuring the seamless, high-quality delivery of accounting, tax, administrative, corporate secretarial, IT, and HR services.

Partnering closely with the Managing Partner and department leaders, you will drive operational excellence, scalability, and profitability while upholding the highest regulatory and professional standards. The ideal candidate brings extensive practice management experience within professional services, deep technical workflow knowledge, and strong commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Infrastructure & Capacity Planning: Oversee daily operations across accounting, tax, corporate secretarial, admin, IT, HR, and internal finance functions coordinate optimal work allocation, capacity planning, and resource management across departments.

  • Service Delivery Oversight & QA: Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and service quality to ensure engagements strictly adhere to professional standards and regulatory frameworks proactively resolve operational bottlenecks.

  • Financial & Performance Management: Establish and monitor core professional services KPIs (e.g., utilization rates, realization, revenue per employee, project margins) direct budgeting, cost management, and profitability strategies.

  • Process Optimization & Technology Innovation: Evaluate and streamline internal workflows, documentation standards, and SOPs lead the adoption of automation tools, AI applications, and advanced practice management systems to scale the firm.

  • Executive Leadership & Culture: Manage, develop, and mentor operational and administrative teams collaborate with department heads on talent management, performance evaluation, and fostering a culture of accountability.

  • Risk Management & Compliance: Maintain robust internal compliance and risk management frameworks governing corporate services, tax, and accounting practices to safeguard client engagements.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience within professional services, with at least 5 to 8 years in a senior operational leadership or practice management role.

  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary professional teams and driving tangible efficiency improvements.

  • Exclusivity: Prior leadership experience specifically within accounting, tax, corporate services, consulting, or legal firms is strictly required.

Preferred Technical Attributes

  • System Implementation: Hands-on experience deploying practice management systems, specialized corporate secretarial software, or digital/AI transformation tools.

  • Geographic Scope: Exposure to managing regional or multi-jurisdictional professional services operations.

Core Domain Knowledge & Skills

  • Professional Services Workflows: Deep understanding of accounting, tax compliance, corporate secretarial workflows, and statutory filing requirements.

  • Firm Economics: Advanced financial acumen covering utilization, realization, pricing structures, and cost control models.

  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional capability to align and collaborate with equity partners, industry professionals, regulators, and high-value clients.

Education & Professional Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.

  • CPA, CA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.

  • Additional certifications in Operations or Project Management (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are distinct advantages.
