Company Overview

Fractal Energy is building a 1 GW C&I renewable energy platform across solar, wind, wind-solar hybrid, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). We deliver reliable, round-the-clock clean power to commercial and industrial customers through open access.

The founding team brings operating experience from leading renewable energy platforms including Mytrah Energy, Adani Green, and ACME Solar. Fractal is backed by established infrastructure investors and guided by stellar Board of Advisors including Pashupathy Gopalan (Fenice Energy), Vinay Kumar Pabba (Vibrant Energy) & Balajee Rangarajan (Solon).

The first 150 MW is under execution across AP and Telangana, anchored by marquee C&I customers across pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and process industries. Fractal is rapidly scaling its project pipeline across India.

Role Overview

The General Manager – Projects will own end-to-end delivery of its solar open access portfolio. The role reports directly to the CEO and serves as the single point of accountability for every project, from groundbreaking to commissioning. The first 150 MW is already under execution against a 1 GW by 2029 target, so the GM joins at a defining moment for how Fractal delivers for years to come.

This is a field-anchored leadership role, not a head-office one. The GM is expected to walk onto any site and read its true status within the hour — execution authority comes from genuinely knowing the site, not from second-hand reporting.

Scope of ownership:

• Field execution — civil works, MMS, module installation, DC/AC cabling, inverter and transformer commissioning, switchyard, and grid synchronisation
• Team leadership — multiple project managers and site engineers across simultaneous sites
• Commercial management — BOQs, contractor variations, claims, LDs, and cost-overrun control
• Stakeholder management — promoter and board reviews, plus coordination with finance, procurement, and legal
• Regulatory management — DISCOM/TRANSCO and any other department approvals required from start to grid synchronisation

Ideal Candidate Profile

Non-negotiables

• 300+ MW of solar execution, with at least 100 MW directly handled as Project Manager leading site engineers
• A field-based career — not head-office-only, consulting, or PMC backgrounds
• Hands-on across the full EPC scope (civil through grid sync)
• Commercial fluency on BOQs, variations, claims, LDs, and cost control
• Energy for site presence and ambition to grow with the company

Preferred

• Experience across multiple EPC and IPP environments (not single captive-EPC)
• General working knowledge of DISCOM/TRANSCO & other government body processes across states
• Established relationships with DISCOM/TRANSCO officials in both states
• Track record through commissioning and first-year O&M handover
