General Manager – Manufacturing Facility

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall management of the company and manufacturing facility.
• Provide managerial oversight of production, maintenance, quality, logistics, administration and human resources.
• Lead the start-up and progressive growth of manufacturing operations.
• Translate the strategic direction of the shareholders and Italian headquarters into operational plans.
• Establish departmental objectives, priorities and responsibilities and monitor performance.
• Ensure achievement of production, quality, safety, efficiency and customer-service targets.
• Prepare and manage budgets, financial forecasts and development plans.
• Monitor costs, profitability, productivity and key financial and operational KPIs.
• Identify critical operational issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Oversee recruitment, organisation and management of personnel.
• Approve purchases, suppliers and investments within the assigned authority.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, company procedures, HSE and quality standards.
• Represent the company with customers, suppliers, consultants, authorities and local partners.
• Maintain regular communication with shareholders and the Italian headquarters and provide periodic operational and financial reports.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Significant senior-management or general-management experience within an industrial/manufacturing company.
• Proven ability to manage multiple business functions and complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, financial and organisational processes.
• Experience managing budgets, costs, profitability and performance indicators.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and team-management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while implementing the strategic direction of shareholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to be permanently based in Sohar, Oman.

Preferred:

• Experience in the plastics processing industry.
• Knowledge of injection moulding processes.
• Experience managing manufacturing start-ups or expansion projects.
• International or Middle East experience.
• Knowledge of the Oman business and regulatory environment.
• Knowledge of Arabic.
