Job Description

Job Title: General Manager MEPF

Location: Hadapsar, Pune

Reports To: Managing Director

Job Summary:

The General Manager MEPF is responsible for overall business operations, project execution, profitability, and strategic growth of MEPF projects. The role involves leadership across engineering, procurement, execution, quality, safety, finance coordination, and client management to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business & Strategic Management

  • Lead and manage end-to-end MEPF business operations.
  • Develop business plans, budgets, and growth strategies.
  • Identify new business opportunities, tenders, and partnerships.
  • Support bidding, estimation, and contract finalization activities.
  • Ensure achievement of revenue, margin, and cash flow targets.

2. Project Execution & Operations

  • Oversee planning, execution, and completion of MEPF projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per specifications.
  • Monitor project schedules, manpower, material planning, and productivity.
  • Resolve critical technical, commercial, and site issues.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, and PMC teams.

3. Engineering & Design Management

  • Review and approve MEPF designs, drawings, and technical submittals.
  • Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC, NFPA, local authority norms.
  • Optimize designs for cost, efficiency, and constructability.

4. Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Oversee procurement planning and vendor finalization.
  • Approve major purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
  • Ensure timely material delivery and cost control.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.

5. Financial & Commercial Control

  • Monitor project budgets, costing, billing, and collections.
  • Ensure accurate monthly MIS, cash flow forecasting, and cost variance analysis.
  • Control overheads and improve profitability.
  • Coordinate with finance team for audits, taxation, and statutory compliance.

6. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure implementation of QMS, safety standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with fire authority, electrical inspectorate, and local regulations.
  • Handle audits, inspections, and certifications.

7. Team Leadership & HR Coordination

  • Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, and support teams.
  • Ensure proper manpower planning, performance management, and training.
  • Coordinate with HR on recruitment, appraisals, and disciplinary matters.
  • Foster a high-performance and collaborative work culture.

8. Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for key clients.
  • Build long-term relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and negotiations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of MEPF systems and EPC project management.
  • Excellent commercial, contractual, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).
  • MBA / PGDM in Project Management or Operations (Preferred).

Experience:

  • 1520+ years of experience in MEPF contracting / EPC industry.
  • Minimum 57 years in a senior leadership role.
