About The Function
The Corporate Legal Team at Godrej Industries Group plays a pivotal role in managing litigation, overseeing contract negotiations and providing strategic legal counsel on complex projects and transactions. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, the team ensures seamless legal support across the organisation. In addition to managing the intellectual property portfolio, the team also oversees indirect tax matters, safeguarding the company's interests and fostering business growth with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing strategic support on broad range of legal and contractual matters and best practices
- Developing sound legal strategy supporting business growth
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documentation for a wide range of commercial transactions
- Handling trasanction / contract lifecycle from legal perspective
- Legal advisory on business and operational issues
- Setting processes through digitisation and standardization
- Building capability within team
- Protecting organisation's reputation and business interests whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Managing external relationships, liaising with industry associations and interactions with and representations to government bodies
Education
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Law
Experience
- PQE with reputed law firm in general corporate practice and / or in-house experience with MNCs or Indian conglomerates.
- Sectoral preference: manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and infrastructure companies
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of corporate, commercial and civil laws.
- Expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts.
- Excellent analytical skills, strong commercial acumen, time sensitivity.
- Strong collaborator and team player with good management skills.
- Excellent communication skills as this position requires interaction with internal and external stakeholders across levels
- Ability to handle multiple projects and issues simultaneously.
- A work history that demonstrates leadership and ability to influence stakeholders.
