Role Overview

The General Manager – Finance & Accounts will lead the entire finance function for the hospital vertical, driving financial strategy, governance, compliance, and operational efficiency. This is a central leadership role responsible for building a scalable finance framework aligned with rapid hospital expansion, ensuring strong financial controls, and enabling business decision-making through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership
  • Partner with leadership to define financial strategy aligned with organizational growth.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning for all hospital units.
  • Provide strategic insights on profitability, cost optimization, and capital allocation.
  • Financial Operations & Control
  • Oversee end-to-end finance operations including accounting, AR/AP, treasury, and payroll.
  • Establish and enforce robust financial controls and SOPs across all hospitals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Hospital Financial Management
  • Monitor unit-level P&L, identify variances, and drive corrective actions.
  • Improve revenue cycle management (billing, collections, insurance reconciliation).
  • Work closely with operations to optimize cost structures without impacting care quality.
  • Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax laws, and healthcare-specific financial norms.
  • Manage audits (internal & external), ensuring zero non-compliance.
  • Strengthen governance frameworks and risk management practices.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with clinical, operations, HR, and central teams for financial alignment.
  • Interface with investors, auditors, and external partners as needed.
  • Support leadership with financial models for expansion, new units, and investments.
  • Team Leadership
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team across central and unit levels.
  • Drive capability building, performance management, and succession planning.

Key Metrics / KPIs

  • EBITDA improvement across units
  • Budget vs actual variance control
  • Cash flow & working capital efficiency
  • AR days / collection efficiency
  • Audit & compliance adherence

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA / MBA Finance (CA preferred)
  • 10–15years of experience in finance leadership roles
  • Strong exposure to hospital / healthcare / multi-unit operations preferred
  • Experience in scaling finance functions in high-growth environments
