Role Overview:
The General Manager – Distribution & Logistics Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing Line Haul and Last Mile delivery operations across the network by driving network design, delivery performance, vendor management, and execution of multi-channel delivery strategies, ensuring timely and cost-effective customer fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
:Strategy and Network Desig
- nDesign and implement the Line Haul and Last Mile delivery network in collaboration with the NSO team
- .Drive revisions to the existing network plan based on changing business needs, peak season loads, and geographic performance insights
- .Continuously evaluate cost, coverage, and efficiency to improve delivery performance and reach
.Line Haul (LH) Operation
- sMonitor inter-DC and hub movements across the country to ensure timely and efficient stock transfers
- .Address and resolve bottlenecks in the Line Haul leg; optimize routing, fleet utilization, and turnaround times
- .Collaborate with Distribution Centers and transport vendors to ensure adherence to movement SLAs
.Last Mile (LM) Operation
- sEnsure customer deliveries are made on or before the promised date across all geographies
- .Drive continuous improvement in post-shipment KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, customer satisfaction)
- .Introduce and scale alternate delivery methods (e.g., gig delivery, hyperlocal tie-ups) to improve flexibility and customer reach
.Vendor & Partner Managemen
- tManage national delivery and transport vendors, including performance tracking and SLA compliance
- .Ensure timely processing of vendor payments and maintain accurate quarterly No Dues Certificates (NDCs)
- .Develop SOPs and evaluation frameworks for onboarding, scaling, and performance management of logistics partners
.Innovation and Channel Expansio
- nConceptualize and implement new delivery channels (e.g., ship-from-store, micro-hub delivery)
- .Work with technology and operations teams to design workflows and rollout strategies for new last-mile formats
- .Track effectiveness and customer feedback for new delivery formats and iterate accordingly
