Job Description - Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Buildings) (Tier 1 Institutes)
CTC: 30–45 LPA (Maximum 35% hike on current CTC)
Project Focus: Residential, Commercial & High-Rise Building Projects
About the Role
Looking for a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong experience in residential and commercial building projects and hands-on expertise in core electrical design engineering.
The ideal candidate should have strong design fundamentals, multidisciplinary coordination capability, and experience working in BIM-enabled project environments. This is a core engineering role focused on electrical system design and project delivery — not a drafting or pure BIM coordination role.
Candidates with experience limited to oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design & Engineering
- Design electrical systems for residential, commercial, and high-rise building projects.
Prepare and review:
- Electrical layouts
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Riser diagrams
- DB schedules
- Technical drawings and engineering documentation
Perform:
- Electrical load calculations
- Demand calculations
- Feeder sizing
- Voltage drop calculations
- Panel sizing and coordination
Design and coordinate:
- Power distribution systems
- Lighting systems
- Emergency power systems
- Grounding systems
- Low-voltage systems
- Ensure all designs are technically sound, coordinated, buildable, and code compliant.
2. BIM & Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Work closely with architectural, structural, MEP, and BIM teams.
- Participate in:
- Clash detection
- Coordination reviews
- Design issue resolution
- Support BIM-driven and digital engineering workflows.
- Contribute to improved engineering coordination and project delivery efficiency.
3. Project Delivery & Coordination
- Participate in technical discussions, coordination meetings, and design reviews.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputs.
- Support engineering quality control and design consistency.
- Contribute to process improvement and engineering best practices.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (Mandatory)
Candidates from reputed engineering institutes will be strongly preferred, including:
- IITs
- Top NITs
- BITS Pilani
- Other reputed Tier-1 / Tier-2 engineering institutes
Qualification Required:
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience Requirements
- 12–20 years of experience in electrical design for building projects with reputed design consulting firms.
- Mandatory experience in:
- Residential projects
- Commercial projects
- High-rise buildings
- Must have independently handled electrical design responsibilities.
- Candidates with only industrial, oil & gas, or infrastructure experience will not be considered.
