Job Summary
The General Manager – Corporate Relations & Career Services will function as a senior individual contributor responsible for personally driving the following:
- Corporate partnerships
- Recruiter acquisition
- Placements & internships
- Student employability outcomes
You will act as the face of the university with corporates while collaborating closely with Deans, faculty, placement coordinators, and academic stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
1 Corporate Relations & Recruiter Acquisition (Hands-On)
- Independently identify, approach, and onboard corporates, MNCs, and marquee brands
- Build long-term relationships with CXOs, CHROs, Talent Heads & business leaders
- Represent GLA University in corporate meetings & industry forums
- Develop sector-focused recruitment pipelines
- Continuously expand a high-quality industry database
2 Campus Placements & Internships (Execution Ownership)
- Personally coordinate and execute placement drives & internship programs
- Ensure placement targets through direct engagement & follow-ups
- Facilitate final placements, internships, live projects & industry assignments
- Ensure ethical, transparent, student-centric processes
- Drive recruiter satisfaction & repeat hiring
3 Student Career Development & Employability
- Mentor students on career planning & interview readiness
- Conduct mock interviews, resume clinics & workshops
- Enable internships & workplace-readiness initiatives
4 Industry–Academia Engagement
- Coordinate guest lectures, conclaves & networking sessions
- Align curriculum with industry needs
- Provide structured industry feedback to academic teams
- Facilitate industry visits & engagement programs
5 Strategic Market & Employer Development
- Expand recruiter base across priority sectors
- Identify emerging hiring trends & new-age roles
- Develop tailored engagement proposals
- Penetrate new employer markets through direct outreach
6 Data, Reporting & Governance
- Maintain accurate placement & recruiter engagement data
- Track recruiter onboarding, salary trends & repeat rates.
- Prepare leadership dashboards & accreditation reports
- Ensure policy compliance & ethical standards
7 Internal Collaboration
- Partner with Deans, HODs & academic teams
- Act as a bridge between students, faculty & corporates
- Support cross-school placement goals
- Take ownership of aligned institutional responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in Management or relevant discipline
- 8–15 years of hands-on experience in Corporate Relations, Placements, Career Services, Talent Acquisition, or Industry-facing roles.
- University–Industry ecosystem exposure preferred
- Strong connections across Engineering, Computer Science, Management, Law, Medical Business, Retail, or allied sectors
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) & CRM tools
- Active professional presence on social platforms
- Willingness to travel extensively
