About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional with 4 to 5 years of experience in General Ledger operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing journal entries, month-end close activities, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and accounting standards across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries for recurring and non-recurring transactions in accordance with local GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts including bank accounts, intercompany balances, and prepaid/receivable/payable accounts.
- Maintain and monitor fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for statutory and group reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll to ensure completeness and accuracy of ledger entries.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations including GST/VAT and other indirect tax requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in ledger operations.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from management related to financial data and reporting.
Skills and Attributes
- Experience in Corporate Finance with strong knowledge of journal entry accounting and account reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of applicable tax laws and accounting standards across multiple jurisdictions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
Required Competencies
- CA Inter or ICWAI Inter candidates only.
- Certification or coursework in Accounting or Taxation is an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP or similar accounting platforms is preferred.
- Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting with exposure to financial reporting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
