Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned GCP Platform Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience in designing, building, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, networking, and Kubernetes orchestration on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps practices, security, and containerization technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage highly scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on GCP.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
- Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes (GKE) clusters and containerized applications.
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM, firewalls, and encryption.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, networking, and infrastructure issues across distributed systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, and security to ensure adherence to cloud best practices.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Stay up to date with GCP innovations and suggest improvements for platform engineering practices.
Primary Skills (Must Have)
- Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Serverless, Data Services).
- Strong background in Platform Engineering and DevOps methodologies.
- Expertise in Kubernetes (GKE) and container orchestration.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud networking concepts (VPC, subnets, firewalls, ingress/egress traffic).
- Proven experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Familiarity with enterprise security tools (e.g., GCP Secret Manager, IAM policies).
- Experience with Docker, containerization, and multi-stage Docker builds.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
Additional Skills (Good to Have)
- Experience with Google Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and serverless architectures.
- Knowledge of Policy as Code using tools like OPA (Open Policy Agent) or Forseti.
- Familiarity with cost optimization strategies on GCP.
- Monitoring and observability tools like Google Cloud Operations Suite (Stackdriver), Prometheus, and Grafana.
