Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled GCP Platform Engineer with 25 years of experience to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on cloud infrastructure, automation, reliability, and enabling development teams through strong platform foundations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Manage and support Kubernetes (GKE) clusters and containerized workloads
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes
- Ensure platform security, monitoring, logging, and observability
- Manage GCP networking including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, load balancers
- Implement IAM policies, service accounts, and security best practices
- Troubleshoot platform-level issues and optimize system performance
- Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and development teams to improve developer experience
- Maintain documentation and operational runbooks
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 25 years of experience as a Platform Engineer / Cloud Engineer / DevOps Engineer
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Solid experience with:
- Compute Engine
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Cloud Storage
- Cloud Load Balancing
- Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Strong understanding of Linux systems
- Knowledge of IAM, networking, and security concepts
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Cloud Build)
- Proficiency with Git and version control practices
Good to Have (Preferred Skills)
- Hands-on experience with Docker & container orchestration
- Monitoring & logging tools: Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
- Experience in SRE practices (SLIs, SLOs, SLAs)
- GCP certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer / Professional Cloud Architect)
- Experience in multi-environment (dev, staging, prod) setups
- Exposure to cost optimization and capacity planning on GCP
