The Team

Deloitte's Technology & Transformation Technology & Transformation (T&T) - Engineering, AI & Data (EAID) - Intelligent Apps Team focuses on developing, implementing, and managing advanced software solutions that leverage Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and data analytics to transform business operations. This team is part of Deloitte Consulting's Engineering practice, which combines a product-centric mindset with industry-specific insights.

Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer with GCP Cloud Expertise

Experience Level: Senior (6-10 years)

Role Summary

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Deloitte India, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, implementing, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. Your extensive experience in GCP and DevOps methodologies will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

2. Architect and implement highly scalable and available systems that meet business and technical requirements.

3. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using industry-standard tools such as Terraform.

4. Design and implement robust and automated CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid software deployment.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and provide DevOps solutions.

6. Monitor and optimize cloud-based systems for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

7. Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance standards for cloud-based applications.

8. Troubleshoot complex issues and provide root cause analysis and resolution.

9. Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing your expertise and best practices.

10. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to DevOps and cloud computing.

11. Participate in on-call support and incident resolution as needed.

Must-have Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. 6-10 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or related roles.

3. Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and products.

4. Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby).

5. Extensive experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

6. Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform.

7. Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).

8. Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices.

9. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

10. Excellent communication skills and the ability to document processes and procedures.

Preferred Skills:

1. Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification or equivalent.

2. Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

3. Extensive experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

4. Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

5. Proficiency in monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Grafana).

6. Prior experience in a leadership or senior role within a DevOps team.

7. Strong project management skills and the ability to drive initiatives to completion.
