Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Engineer
Location - Bangalore
Experience - 7 to 12 years
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud-native data engineering, big data technologies, and modern data architectures, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer).
- Implement ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured data.
- Optimize data warehouse and lake architectures for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable advanced analytics and ML workloads.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all solutions.
- Automate workflows and monitor pipelines for reliability and efficiency.
- Stay updated with emerging GCP services and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataproc).
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Java/Scala for data engineering tasks.
- Experience with data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning in BigQuery or similar warehouses.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, big data frameworks (Apache Beam, Spark, Hadoop).
- Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools (Airflow/Cloud Composer).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in real-time streaming data solutions.
- Exposure to machine learning pipelines on GCP.
- GCP certifications (Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect).
- Background in financial services, retail, or telecom domains is a plus
Qualifications
Master's or Bachelor's in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, AI, or related field.
