Job Title - GCP Data Architect

Experience - 15 to 20 years

Location - Bangalore/Chennai/Hyderabad/Noida

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: Contribute to architectural decisions and support the Architecture Lead in defining and delivering technology strategy.
• Roadmaps & Patterns: Help create and maintain architecture roadmaps, guardrails, and patterns, collaborating with colleagues across the business.
• Governance & Compliance: Prepare architectural artefacts and documentation to support governance and compliance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with business, engineering, and CTO stakeholders.
• Continuous Learning: Maintain up-to-date technical skills and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• External Research: Conduct external research to inform business design and enable corporate strategy.
• Team Collaboration: Work with a team of architects to ensure alignment with group and technology strategy.
• Agile Delivery: Participate in agile ceremonies and support iterative delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• Enterprise Architecture: Strong experience with architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and exposure to modern technologies.
• Cloud Platforms: Expertise in cloud platforms, especially GCP and hybrid hosting architectures.
• APIs: Experience with APIs.
• Data Strategies: Knowledge of data lifecycle, ETL pipeline, data modeling, data governance and security, data lineage
• Technology Sustainability: Awareness of sustainable technology practices.
• Payments & Digital Transformation: Experience in payments, digital transformation, and retail banking.
• Communication: Strong communication and storytelling skills.
• Collaboration: Ability to build trusted relationships across engineering, product, and business teams.
• Continuous Improvement: Commitment to process improvements and best practices.
• Innovation: Passion for exploring emerging technologies and assessing their business impact.

Core competencies

• Governance, Security and Audit compliance

Establish cloud governance: org hierarchy, folders/projects, billing, quotas, and guardrails.

Define IAM models, KMS key management, secrets management, encryption, and data classification.

Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) and internal risk controls.

• Enterprise cloud strategy

Define enterprise cloud strategy and roadmap for modernization, data platform evolution, and AI/ML enablement.

Establish reference architectures, patterns, and guardrails (landing zones, networking, IAM, security baselines).

• Architecture leadership

Design end-to-end architectures leveraging GCP services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc, Vertex AI).

Ensure non-functional requirements (availability, performance, reliability, resilience, observability) and DR targets.

Promote event-driven and serverless patterns; drive API-first design.

• Stakeholder enabling and management

Influence senior stakeholders; translate strategy into executable roadmaps.

Run architecture reviews and publish accelerators and reusable reference implementations.

Mentor solution architects and engineering teams; support capability building and hiring.

Typical Certifications & Qualifications

• TOGAF, Zachman, PMP, Certifications
• Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM)
• Experience in banking, financial services, and cloud-based data platforms
