Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Solution Architect with deep expertise in
GCP, MongoDB, and Kafka to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong architectural leadership, hands-on development capability, and the ability to translate business needs into robust technical architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Architect highly scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Define end-to-end solution architectures including microservices, event-driven systems, API ecosystems, and data processing pipelines.
- Design MongoDB data models, indexing strategies, and sharding/partitioning approaches for optimized performance.
- Architect Kafka-based streaming solutions including topic hierarchy, consumer group strategy, message formats, and delivery semantics.
- Ensure all architectures follow best practices around scalability, availability, observability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Prepare architecture documents, sequence diagrams, integration patterns, and logical/physical data models.
Hands-on Development
- Write and review high-quality code in Python, Java, Node.js, or Go.
- Build microservices, APIs, ingestion pipelines, Kafka producers/consumers, and GCP-native services.
- Conduct POCs and develop reusable frameworks, utilities, and automation components.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup, automated testing, and DevSecOps best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and mentor developers.
Cloud Platform Expertise (GCP)
- Strong understanding of GKE, Cloud Run, GCE, GCS, VPC, IAM, and Load Balancing.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions.
- Implement optimized cloud workloads with focus on performance and cost management.
- Set up observability frameworks including Cloud Logging, Monitoring, and APM.
MongoDB Expertise
- Expert in schema design aligned with application access patterns.
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas, replica sets, sharding, backup/restore, and performance tuning.
- Strong command over query patterns, aggregations, indexing, and schema evolution strategies.
Kafka Expertise
- Experience with Kafka clusters (self-managed or Confluent Cloud).
- Build Kafka producers, consumers, stream processors using KStreams/KSQL (nice to have).
- Expertise in Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, and tuning for throughput & low-latency.
- Manage consumer lags, topic partitioning, replication, and high availability setup.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with product managers, analysts, developers, and QA teams to convert requirements into technical designs.
- Provide architectural governance, technical mentorship, and thought leadership.
- Drive architecture, performance, and security reviews across teams.
DevOps & Security
- Experience with CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab.
- Knowledge of IaC: Terraform for provisioning GCP environments.
- Implement secure coding practices: IAM, encryption, VPC design, secrets management.
- Conduct threat modeling and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience including 4+ years in solution architecture.
- Strong hands-on expertise in GCP, MongoDB, and Kafka.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language: Java, Python, Go, Node.js.
- Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, caching, messaging, and REST/API best practices.
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency cloud-native applications.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
